Wakelee Fifth Grade Science Fair
The annual fifth grade Wakelee Science Fair was held on Wednesday, January 25th. Fifth grade students chose a question to investigate and designed an experiment to answer their question. Students enjoyed testing their hypothesis, conducting their experiment, and observing the results. The projects were judged by four current or former science fair teachers who used a multi-factored rubric to score the projects. During the evening celebration, twenty honorable mention awards were given to the fifth grade students and the top three award winners were announced. The third place winner was Collin Lagasse with the question of what type of light bulb will make a plant grow taller. Josh Gioielli won second place with the question of which potato chip is the greasiest. The first place winner was Ryan Wood whose science fair question was how does the type of surface affect the distance a car will travel.
